How to Control Your Advisor Profile Visibility on the BEI Member Center.
There are three levels of Privacy Settings available for your Advisor Profile posted on the BEI Member Center:
- Everyone (highly recommended)
- Members Only
- Hidden (not recommended)
There are lots of good reasons to have your BEI Member Center Advisor Profile be seen by Everyone:
- Other BEI Members may be looking for a Strategic Alliance Partner with your qualifications to work with a business owner in your area.
A business owner is looking for an Exit Planning Advisor in his or her community. (See Find an Exit Planning Advisor note below)
- A professional association could be looking for a speaker on Exit Planning for an upcoming meeting.
If your Advisor Profile is not open to Everyone, they will never find you.
The Members Only option eliminates an entire universe of business owners, professional advisors and other referral sources from seeing who you are, what you do and how you can solve some of their problems. If you have more business than you can handle and are turning away lucrative engagements because you don’t have the time to bring on new clients, then the Members Only option may be for you.
NOTE: If this is the case, please share your secrets with other BEI Members!
The Hidden option blocks everyone from accessing your Advisor Profile.
Starting at the BEI Member Center Home Page, there are three portals to the Privacy Settings:
- My BEI Box (third box in the second row)
- Click My Account
- My Account Box
- Click Account Settings
- Click Privacy Settings (fourth item down in the blue menu listing on the left-hand side of page)
- Select your preference
- Scroll to bottom of the page and click the gray Save box in the lower, left-hand corner of the page
- Select your preference
- Click Privacy Settings (fourth item down in the blue menu listing on the left-hand side of page)
- Click Account Settings
- My Account Box
- Click My Account
